Abstract

Hand skills, are functions which develops with time beginning from the childhood period and take and important place in humans life. This is more important in mentally handicapped than normal persons. In daily life activity, if hand skills activities are learnt as a standart movement pattern by mentally handicapped children, these can help them to appease some lacks during their life. Aim to research the effect of closed area activities to develop hand skills in educable mentally handicapped student. In study include 7 boys and 3 girls. First in pretest we determine the level of hand skills that they can accomplish. After, we apply closed area activities (painting, finger games, screwing off, tearing paper) to students during 16 weeks, 3 days per weeks, 2 hours per days. When choosing these activities, we pay attention to contain hand movements pattern needed in daily life.
