The words, the signifiers of language, are the holders of the ability of understanding and narrating, the determiners of social roles and the carriers of upper intellectual skills. The number of words that are known and their active usage affect the upper intellectual skills directly. Many of the studies on the words in Turkey are mainly related to the frequency studies and the detection of word numbers in the texts. The studies that target to improve active vocabulary are rare. This study is based on speaking and it is an activity of playful vocabulary teaching activity. Vocabulary teaching methods and techniques, which teachers use in Turkey, are limited with those demonstrated in the program. Data related to the student skills on dictionary usage, mentioned under the title of “Vocabulary Teaching in Turkish Language Program,” can be explained from this perspective.
