Abstract

In this article, it is planned to show how great epics can be employed in an entertaining way in the classes of German as a foreign language without boring the learners. Different operational and productive exercises through which the learners do the task independently and comprehendingly have been done. In this study, description letter, summarizing and picturing of specific pages in a foreign language, front and back book cover exercises for the novels “Crabwalk” by Günter Grass and “Serenade” by Zülfü Livaneli have been chosen and done with the learners. At the end of the study, there appeared the books that the learners own and have composed themselves.
