Abstract
Ülkemiz inşaat iş kolunda ağır yaralanma ve ölümle sonuçlanan kaza tipleri arasında süreksiz boşluklarda yüksekten insan düşmesi şeklindeki kaza tiplerinin genellikle toplu koruma önlemlerinin ya doğru uygulanmamasından ya da hiç uygulanmamasından kaynaklandığı görülmüştür. İnşaat sahalarında uygulanan toplu koruma tedbirlerinin hiçbir standart, kanun ya da yönetmeliklere bağlı olarak yapılmaması bu tür kazaların sonuçlarının en ağır olmasının temel sebebi olmuştur. Bu temel sebebin yanında birçok yan sebepte gözlemlenmiştir. Bu yan sebepler çalışan ve işverenin eğitimsizliği, ihmalkarlığı, disiplinsizliği, kasıtlı olarak önlemleri almaması, işin güvenlikten önce gelmesi şeklinde sıralanabilir. Bu makalede TS EN 13374 Standardına uygun imal edilmiş olan kenar koruma sistemleri hakkında ayrıntılı bilgiler verilmiştir. İnşaat işlerinde ağır yaralanmalı ve ölümle sonuçlanan iş kazalarının azaltılabilmesi için TS EN 13374 Standardına uygun korkuluklarının kullanımının gerçekleştirilmesi gerekmektedir. Bunun gerçekleşmesi için ise şantiyelerde işveren ve çalışanlara bu standarda sahip korkulukları tanımaları ve kullanmalarının meydana gelecek ağır yaralanmalı ve ölümlü iş kazalarını azaltacağını bilmeleri oldukça önemli bir hal almıştır.

Abstract
The types of accidents such as falling from discontinuous spaces are among the types of accidents that result in severe injury and death in the construc-tion business of our country. This is usually due to the fact that collective protection measures are not implemented correctly or not implemented at all. The fact that the collective protection measures applied at the construction sites are not made according to any standards, laws or regulations is the main reason for the serious consequences of accidents. Besides this main reason, there are many side reasons as well. These side reasons may include emplo-yee and employer's lack of education, their negligence, indiscipline and them not taking any measures deliberately. This article provides detailed informa-tion about edge protection systems manufactured in accordance with TS EN 13374 standard. The use of railings in accordance with TS EN 13374 Stan-dard is required to reduce the number of occupational accidents resulting in severe injuries and death. For this to happen, it is very important for the emp-loyers and employees to get familiar with the use of railings of this standard and know the fact that this will help reduce the number of serious injuries and fatal occupational accidents at the construction sites.
