Abstract
Türkiye’nin jeopolitik ve jeostratejik konumu sebebiyle güçlü bir orduya sahip olması gerekmektedir. Güçlü orduyu oluşturan önemli faktörlerden birisi de etkili bir hava savunma sistemine sahip olunmasıdır. Türkiye bu imkana ka-vuşmak amacıyla değişik girişimlerde bulunmuştur. Bu yöndeki son kararı Rusya’dan S400 hava savunma sistemi satın almak olmuştur. Ancak, bu tercihiyle ilgili başta ABD olmak üzere NATO üyesi bazı ülkelerden yüksek tonda itiraz sesleri yükselmiştir. Türkiye hava savunma sistemi ihtiyacını giderme yönünde kararlar verirken, müttefikleri tarafından kendisine iletilen çekinceleri dikkate alarak adımlar atmaya gayret göstermektedir. Yapmış olduğumuz bu çalışmada Türkiye’nin mevcut hava savunma sistemi durumu, bu konudaki ihtiyacı ile ABD ve NATO’nun konuyla ilgili çekinceleri incelenmiştir.

Abstract
Turkey needs to have a very strong army due to geopolitical and geostrategic position. One of the important factors that make up the strong army is to have an effective air defense system. Turkey has taken various initiatives in order to attain these opportunities. The final decision in this direction was to buy the S400 air defense system from Russia. But, a high tone of voices were raised from some NATO member countries, particularly the US, about this prefer-ence. While decided to eliminate the need for air-defense system, Turkey strives to take steps by taking into account the reservations submitted to it by the allies. In this study, the status of the existing air defense systems of Tur-key, need on this issue, and US and NATO's reservations on the issue are ex-amined.
