Abstract

Abstract

When a historical event is dealt with, it has to be examined by examining many aspects of society or societies. When such a method is not examined, historical research may be incomplete or inadequate. In order to understand the political life of the Roman state it is necessary to consider the place in the religious state. The god and god tradition, which is the greatest part of religious life, has a great influence on this formation. According to the information we can obtain from the traditions that came to us from B.C.8, it is obvious that Roman God Tradition passed through many stages. It seems that each of the gods has its own clergy as well as its class of clergy. With the rise of religious population in the society, the value of the clergy has increased, and hierarchically after the king the highest position was the priests. God's tradition resulted with the high number of buildings for the house of God. The personalization of the gods and to give new names to the gods began with the introduction of foreign gods entering to Rome.
