Abstract
Bu makalenin temel amacı, farklı ekonomik teorileri karşılaştırarak kalkınmanın ilerletilmesinde devletin değişen rolünü analiz etmektir; Klasik Liberalizm, Keynesgil ve son olarak da Neoliberalizm. Bu çalışma, kalkınma sürecinde devletin ekonomik rolü hakkındaki tarihsel deneyimleri ve teorik tartışmaları inceliyor. Kalkınma sürecinde devletin rolünün klasik liberalizmin doğuşundan 2007-2008 ekonomik krizine kadar nasıl değiştiğini araştırıyor. Çalışmada devletin değişen tarihsel, ampirik ve teorik perspektifteki rolü araştırıldıktan sonra, küresel ekonomik krizin devletin ilerlemesini teşvik edici rolünün kısmen veya tamamen keskinleştiği sonucuna varmıştır.

Abstract
The main purpose of this article is to analyze the changing role of the state in promoting development by comparing different economic theories; Classical Liberalism, Keynesian and lastly Neoliberalism. This study examines both historical experience and theoretical debate concerning the economic role of the state in development. It investigates that how the role of the state in the development process has changed from the birth of classical liberalism till 2007-2008 economic crisis. After investigating changing role of the state from historical, empirical and theoretical prospective, it concludes that global economic crisis sharps largely or partly the role of the state in promoting development.
