Abstract
İnsanlığın en önemli ortak sorunlarından olan terör, son yüzyılda şiddetini arttırmıştır. Artan terör olayları, turizm başta olmak üzere birçok sektör üzerinde olumsuz etkilere yol açmıştır. Bu çalışmanın amacı, terör ve turizm kavramlarının literatürdeki yerinin incelenip, terörizm faaliyetlerinin ulusal ve uluslararası turizm endüstrisi üzerindeki etkilerini araştırmaktır. Türkiye’nin son 30 yıldaki en önemli sorunlarından biri olan terörizm, maddi manevi zararlara yol açmıştır. Dolayısıyla birçok sektörde oluşan ekonomik sorunlar, özellikle iç ve dış turizmde ciddi mali kayıplara neden olmuştur. Bu engellerin aşılabilmesi için de öneriler yer almaktadır. Sonuç olarak, yapılan çalışmada terör olaylarının zaman zaman turizm ekonomisi üzerindeki olumsuz etkileri gözlemlenmişken, kimi zaman da anormal bir şekilde etkilenmediği görülmüştür.

Abstract
Being one of the most common issues of humanity, terrorism has intensified its impact in the last century. Increased terrorist attacks, has led to negative impacts on many sectors including tourism. The aim of this study is to examine the place of terror and tourism in the literature and to investigate the effects of terrorist activities to the national and international tourism industry. Terrorism counted as one of the most major problems of Turkey in the last 30 years and led to material and moral damage. Thus, economic problems occurring in many sectors caused serious financial losses in domestic and foreign tourism. As a result, while generally the negative effects of terror attacks on the tourism is observed, sometimes the effect was left outside the picture.
