Abstract

Adanalı Ziya is one of poets of XIX. Century. He was born in 1859 in Adana. He completed his primary and secondary education in Adana. Then, he was taken to ‘Enderun’ in İstanbul and he started his education at Tıbbıye-i Şahani (medicine). He left this school after one year and he started to do officer in foundations. He wrote poems to opposite the period’s oppressive government. He arrested and banished to Fizan. Then he was forgiven and sent to Afyonkarahisar in 1895. He worked there 37 years and he died in 1932. Adanalı Ziya usally wrote poems about love, justice, public, freedom and homeland. He wanted to collect his poems in a book but he could not it. Much of his poems were lost. Some part of his poems were published in various magazines and newspapers with important mistakes. Researchers did not research about him except a few articles and the articles are not about his faith and his poems like this. We will introduce ‘tevhid’ and ‘münacat’ poems of Ziya in this work.
