Abstract

The aim of this study is to examine the first stage grades of the Music Education Talent Exams in 2012-2017. In the first phase of the Music Teaching Program Talent Exams in a university in the Black Sea region, the dictation, 2 Sound Hearing, 3 Sound Hearing, 4 Sound Hearing, Melody Repetition and Rhythm Repetition grades within six years were examined according to the graduated high school type and gender variable. The data of the study consisted of, 50 students who have passed the exam for each year, 300 students in total. Data were analyzed using SPSS 21 program and Microsoft Excel. In the study, at 4 Sound Hearing, it was found out that High Schools students had a higher average than Fine Arts High Schools students. At the same time, women received higher scores than men in Rhythm Repetition. In addition, the highest and lowest average according to the overall success average of six years is 95% in 2 Sound Hearing and 36.96% in the Melody Repeat.
