Abstract

How does the vehicle become music? How can music be banned? Why? How to determine the depth of the ideological dimension? How and based on music policy? In particular, how to ban traditional music elements belonging to any society? In the paper, based on these questions, ideological devices of the ideal state were discussed. It was emphasized that art, especially music, is the vehicle in the way of transferring and strengthening the ideal state ideologies via Plato's dialogue with Glaukon, Aristotle's “zoom politicon”, Assman's cultural memory theory , and identity theories. When we talk about the formation phases of the nation state models, the formation of Turkish music in this process is examined. While doing all these evaluation, looking at the changes, building and inventing of Turkish music as a doxa and illisuo in Bourdeiu's habitus, allowed us to read the process together with its pros and cons.
