Abstract

This article analyzes the role and importance of chamber music and orchestra lessons in the improvement of the students'/musicians' performances in Departments of Stringed Instruments at State Conservatories. As is known, starting with the foundation of the Republic, State Conservatories, as institutions of musical training, have succesfully maintained their role in training qualified artists for the art of music. As far as the training of “performance artists” is concerned through vocational musicial education, not only individual instrument classes but also chamber music and orchestra classes play a significant part in the productivity and the success of prospective musicians. Firstly, problems attributable to students, instructors and institutions are specified. Then, solutions are offered to these problems through the use of observations that are carried out on musical communities at high schools and universities. In addition, readers are provided with brief descriptions of terms and concepts used in this field.
