Abstract

The military modernization of the Ottoman Empire and Egypt, have brought the cultural impression because of the relations with France in particular. After the intellectual interaction, the newspapers and journals have became widespread in the social life. The issue of the simplification of language was came on the agenda along with the translations from French literature. When the Ottomans and Egyptians have modernization debates, gave first examples of modern literature under the influence romance and realism. France began its literary development with the Renaissance and completed modern transformation with the French Revolution in 1789, after that, France has been a decisive factor in Turkish and Egyptian literature. This study aims to identify the common elements in the development of Turkish and Egyptian literatures under the influence of the French Literature.
