Abstract

This research aims to determine the attitudes of Anatolian High School 10th and 11th class students using scanning model among the descriptive surveys. The sample of the research was comprised of 6 State Anatolian High Schools in Ankara, in 2014-2015 school year. In the research, the development level (developed, middle developed, less developed) of Ankara’s counties, indicated by Turkish Statistics Institution was taken as reference and two schools in each county was picked in a random manner. The 20 items attitude scale developed for the research was implemented to 543 music course students in 10th and 11th classes. According to the findings of the research, it was observed that the attitudes of the students on Turkish music subjects in the music courses were generally negative and attitude levels decline as the development level of the counties increase. Proposals are presented in light of the findings of the study.
