Abstract

This research focuses on concrete and abstract cases in the paintings of painter Vedat Akkök. In this study, many different methods such as interview, descriptive screening were used. The aim of the research is to interpret Akkök's paintings in contemporary art practices in the light of the origins and origins of the concrete-abstract dialectic. In addition, the cultural values of living and to pass to future generations. Vedat Kakkök has come from a family engaged in art. Akkök's paintings consist of two different forms. The artist made realistic, figurative paintings with a traditionalist approach and showed an abstract trend by going out of this tradition. The artist made realistic paintings in his early paintings, and after 1990, he turned to a mode of production in his concrete-abstract dialectic. Akkök has taken its place among the Turkish painting art with its paintings which are both representative and constructive.
