Abstract

The aim of the study was to analyze the color perception levels of pre-school and primary school students at 6-7 years of age and to find a solution in the research on what can be taught about color. The aim of the study is to reveal the color perception of preschool and primary school students at 6-7 years of age. The research is important for students who are 6-7 years of age to learn about color and to shed light on educational learning. The research is limited to 6-7 years and the universe is composed of 2 primary schools in Antakya (Feridun Tınaztepe Primary School, Antakya Primary School) and 2 pre-schools (Cemil Meriç Pre-School, Zübeyde Hanim Pre-School), which are located in the centre of Hatay province during the 2016-2017 academic year. 15 students were included in this research in each selected school. Drawing time is limited to 1 hour and this process took 1 month since it took time to ask questions. At the end of the research, the results of the students can tell and classify the main and intermediate colors, the warm and cold colors can be learned if taught, the konstras colors can be taught at the advanced ages and the neutral colors can be taught through the findings.
