Abstract

Women have an important role from hunter gatherer societies to first farmers, and then after people who settled by themselves to present day society. Man was the one hunting and delivering food for his home and the woman was feeding family by cooking or preparing the food for eating. When we examine physical differences between woman and man, we see man has stronger muscle structure than woman. And therefore no one finds odd that workers are mostly men and white-collar workers are women. By increasing education level and having an active role in business life women come home late hours, and prefer fast and practical food instead of traditional meals which take long hours to prepare. With industrial revolution and advancement of technology convenience food become common trend. Eating out was regarded as luxury in the past, and now it become a way of socializing and symbol of status. In this study literature reviews have been made and consists of four sections. First section attempts to examine the effects of modern life on cuisine culture, in second section addresses effects of industrial evolution and technological advancements on food culture, third section aims to analyze the place and importance of woman’s role in cuisine culture, and final section is a submit ion of research about our traditional foods that make our culinary culture.
