The study takes into account that students learn in a much easier and competent way when they use the pieces and methods developed in their own culture and, in this context, profiles and comparative levels of recognition of Turkish flute music were studied among students currently or previously trained in musical departments in Turkey based on an index of the pieces of Turkish composers, and evaluations, opinions and suggestions of people currently or previously trained in the flute on Turkish flute music were revealed. Research results have revealed that Turkish flute music is not adequately recognized among people who were trained in the flute in Turkey.
