Abstract

The religions of societies have created an interaction in the practice of believers throughout history, and the societies that change their religion have not easily abandoned their old beliefs. This is the case for Turks who have been in a neighborhood relationship with many different religions and cultures living in different cultural regions from the first moment they entered the stage of history. The Turks, who accepted Islam, tried to partially live their old beliefs in their new religions and continued to practice some of their beliefs by adopting the Islamic form. These old examples of faith, which were started to be kept alive in the background of Islam, began to be perceived as belonging to Islam in time. The pre-Islamic belief motifs, as well as the social life, influenced the sects within the Sufism, and these sects influenced the works written around them. In this study, Ahmet Eflâkî's book "Ariflerin Menkıbeleri" is will be examined in terms of shamanism, Turkish mythology, Far East religions, Bible, Old Treatment and pre-Islamic belief motifs and traces of old Turkish beliefs.
