As it possess most of the necessary raw material, the province of Kütahya has always been a city where the tile arts developed throughout the history. Because of the color, beautiful patterns and the brilliant sight they have, tiles of Kütahya have always attracted people's interest and demand. As in many other Turkish arts, tiles of Kütahya are embellished with meaningful patterns of herbal, animal and geometrical figures. To transfer the use of these patterns into other fields is believed to raise the interest on tiles of Kütahya. Fashion feeds on various resources, has always been inspired by traditional arts as well. The usage of traditional values in clothing design with modern interpretations is quite common. For this purpose, in this study, tiles of Kütahya and the patterns used in tile art of Kütahya were examined; and those unique and spectacular patterns were aimed to be applied on clothing design. One of the women's clothes, which were designed by monitoring the process in accordance with principles and an element of design, was sewn as a sample.},author={Nuran OCAKOĞLU},year={2018},journal={The Journal of Academic Social Science}}
