According to the statistics of Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), in 2017, 140 million tons of citrus fruit was produced in 9.7 million hectares of land. As it is mostly used in fruit juice production, it produces about 55% of citrus fruit production in the world. Russia ranks first in the list of the most importing cit-rus fruits in the world, followed by France, Germany, the Netherlands and the UK. Turkey, with 139 831 ha of production area and 4,769,726 tons of pro-duction ranks 9th in the world citrus production. In the past 10 years in citrus production volume in Turkey it has been an increase of 37%. Turkey citrus exports in 2017 stood at 1.6728 million tons and revenue was 849.6 million dollars. In the export of citrus, mandarin ranks first with a ratio of 42% and 39% with economic value. Turkey's total citrus production are being exported to 41`%; The Russian Federation, Iraq, Ukraine, Romania and Saudi Arabia are the top five export destinations. The aim of this study is to evaluate the production of citrus in the world and in our country, to search for ways to inc-rease exports, to present the problems and to deliver the results to all interes-ted parties. The number of intermediaries increases the difference between producer prices and consumer prices until producers deliver their products to consumers. Citrus distribution channels will be beneficial to reduce the num-ber of intermediaries or intermediaries in favor of producers and consumers.
