Abstract

Artists have new propositions through the emphasis that contains the concept of space in contemporary art and brings it closer to a multi-layered meaning that is almost beyond physicality. In this sense, the debate for the perception of the space by the artist or the viewer continues at full speed. New places created under favour of or through the space-specific structural analysis of artists' new material searches, in a sense approach unrepeatable fictionality. This changing dimension of the space actively or passively involved the viewer in fictional arrangements. This inclusion and participation process can also mean that the viewer is able to connect more with the space in a sense. This reciprocal and dynamic relationship between the artist, the space and the viewer can remove the mental, emotional and physical boundaries/boundedness. In this scope of work; this changing fiction of the space in terms of contemporary art practices has been dealt by Carl Andre, Ayşe Erkmen, Robert Smithson, Tomas Saraceno and Paul Cumins-Tom Piper. The methodological / artistic approaches of the artists to the space problem were evaluated by reading them through their selected works. The main purpose of this study is; is to try to be able to reveal the possibilities of expression and the consequences of unlimited exhibition practices in a sense in the fictional spaces where contemporary artists create their own works and install new meanings.
