Abstract

This research aims to evaluate the services offered to the elderly in Turkey within the framework of the United Nations (UN) Principles for Older Persons . According to this aim, the opinions of social workers, working in Ankara and in the field of aging, have been learned. The social worker is legally; psychology, sociology, child development, teaching, family and consumer sciences and social work. The research is designed according to the quantitative research method. The interview form created by the researchers was used as data collection tool in the research. 100 social workers, working at social service centers, nursing homes and elderly care and rehabilitation centers in Ankara, were interviewed. As a result of the research, it is found that the institutional care contributes to the goodness of the elderly. institutional arrangements are needed to meet the basic needs of the elderly; it has found that nursing homes do not develop sufficiently supportive practices for the participation of the elderly.
