Abstract

One of the important results of the century we have been living is that almost everybody has transformed into a spectator. Modern technology transforms and changing the perception patterns of the individual. One of the phenomena that modern technology transforms and changing is "Theater Audience". Theater is not an art complete without spectators. Theater needs human beings to understand and be able to exist, to perceive and understand the story, action, and words on the stage. From the ancient Greek era, the perception and understanding, some basic dynamics of viewing – Distance and Participation - coexist. From the ancient Greek era, these two basic dynamic set out the viewing practices of the spectator. Especially in the twentieth century, contemporary directors have tried to change and transform the passive mode imposed in the context of the distance and participation phenomenon, and they have promoted audience participation.
