THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN CARING LEADERSHIP AND THE LEVEL OF CLASSROOM TEACHERS’ RESİLİENCE

Abstract

The purpose of the present study was to explore the relationship between caring leadership and the level of classroom teachers resilience. The participants for this study consisted of 300 classroom teachers at primary schools located in the province of Küçükçekmece. Data in this study were collected by using caring leadership scale developed by Seashore Louis, Murphy and Smylie (2016) and was adapted in Turkish Language by Cerit, Kadıoğlu Ateş ve Kadıoğlu (2018), and the level of classroom teachers’ resilience were assessed with using the brief resilience scale Smith, Dalen, Wiggins, Tooley, Christopher & Jennifer (2008) and was adapted in Turkish Language by Doğan (2015). Mean, standard deviation, correlation and regression test were used in analysis of data. The correlation analysis shows that caring leadership has significantly positive correlation with the level of teachers’ resilience. The results of regression analysis indicated that caring leadership was a significant predictor for teachers’ resilience.
