Abstract

The fact that letter, biography, and autobiography have been recently written by female authors indicates the tendencies of women’s fictionalizing their own lives bravely. Known also with academic, architect, and scenarist Feride Çiçekoğlu has faced the individual and social history while narrating her own experiences and observations in her novels and stories. She has displayed an opponent stance against the patriarchal system, while narrating loneliness, mi-gration, violence, pressure in her books. In this paper the story called ‘’Doğmuş Kızıma Mektup’’ (Letter to My Born Daughter), will be evaluated in the light of feminist view, which was in ‘’100’lük Ülkeden Mektuplar’’ (Let-ters from the Hundred Country) The relation between mother and daughter, sisterhood as a notion of feminism, the critiques of female narrator against values of the patriarchal system in the story named ‘’Doğmuş Kızıma Mektup’’, will be examined based on the feminist theory. The autobiograph-ical components in the story will be determined. The following issues will be investigated: How resistance, optimism and hope are produced and transferred to different generations through the fiction?
