Changes in social structure, on the other hand, make themselves felt in the field of literature after a while. It is hardly ever possible to talk about a profound change in science, technology and art until the mid-way through the 19th Century in Ottoman. The changes seen in Ottoman intellectuals by the influence of the West showed themselves in the field of literature together with Tanzimat. Examples of literary forms and genres that were encountered in the West and that the Ottoman intellectuals were not familiar with until then, started to be tried. From this date onwards, Turkish literature moved away from its roots and started to orient itself towards the West. A problem that the accumulation of classical Turkish literature period couldn’t be understood appeared in the 20th Century.
