Abstract

In this study it is aimed to put forward the fluvial soil features of Uşak Province. For this purpose, the factors that are effective on producing the soil are studied and many analyses related to soil samples are carried out. The results of the analyses are turned into thematic maps through Geographical Information Techniques. In this way many figures which are appropriate with the purpose of the study are drawn. Related to these studies, soil profiles are both constructed and defined in the appropriate places. This soil known as alluvial is categorized into fluvial soil by FAO/UNESCO classification. Fluvial soil which has a limited range compared to the other kinds of soil is commonly placed on the flat areas. According to the research results the soil is generally loamy textured and has over dose lime in a mid way alkali pH but has no sodium problem. It is determined that the soil has many changeable K as well as is in a medium level in respect to organic substance. On the other hand, its magnesium level is measured over the standards. In the conclusion part of the study, solution suggestions are presented to the problems definied in the paper and the appropriate ways of using the area are offered.
