Abstract

The art of enacting events in life on stage is called theater. The drama, or the theatrical piece, shows the events in process. In this respect, theater can be defined as a performance art based on speech and action. Cinema is an idiosyncratic expression tool. Images and sounds are the components of its language. The main expression element of the image and sound is the fiction, which can be found in the form of a scenario with an idiosyncratic narrative technique. While the actor shows him/herself on the stage in theater, the place where the actor shows him/herself in the cinema is the lens, the camera. When acting in the cinema, an inanimate object, camera, is between the actor and the audience and the actor cannot make eye contact with the audience. Theater and cinema, which should be regarded as two different disciplines, should also set off from different points of view in terms of acting.
