Abstract

Egypt was governed by a theocratic system. Accepting Pharaohs as Gods, formed a peculiar state. The Dynasty also adopted a management style where Pharaohs, their wives and children ruled the government. For example, when the Pharaoh went on an expedition, he left his wife with a clear mandate. Thus, in different periods of the Egyptian history, we can see Pharaohs women. However, the most important mechanisms of the central authority, was present in the control of Pharaoh. Pharaoh was considered to be the representative of God on earth. This belief has changed over time and when Pharaohs got strong they declared themselves God. With this power they controlled the government as well as the religious rites. To demonstrate strict religious power, Pharaohs made people afraid and the people showed great respect and loyalty. This article derived From doctoral thesis, we will examine the Pharaohs, the dynastic families, the viziers, the clergy and the forms and activities of state administration.
