Abstract

Investors taking lower risks of higher incomes needed to provide optimal portfolio that will allow you to obtain , many of the algorithms in this area has led to the development of the method. Investment decisions need to be more efficient and faster running very fast today, new algorithms has become even more important than in the past to be developed. Purpose of this study developed a new algorithm to create an optimal portfolio is to contribute to the literature in this area. For this purpose, the most basic model in the optimal portfolio construction area developed by Harry Markowitz in 1952. Markowitz Portfolio Selection examined the model, utilizing the algorithms that model the target programming, investors targeted risk and return when the specified values will minimize the deviation from the target so that the investor's risk and return tradeoff among the objectives forming a new algorithm has been developed to provide optimal portfolio . This creates optimal portfolio with newly developed goal programming algorithm, was tested with data from Turkey's Top 500 Industrial Enterprises . Tests for covariance value between Turkey's Top 500 Industrial Enterprises with 91 of them from the public 01.06.2008-31.12.2012 dates between 221 weekly stock returns and the average return obtained by following stocks were used. The results of the tests , developed a new algorithm that compensates the investor's risk and return objectives in the best way and the fastest way to create optimal portfolio can be seen by the solution.
