Abstract

The purpose of this research was to determine the subject specific competences of instrument training-viola lesson teachers in the fine arts high school by obtaining the opinion consensus of a group of experts. Conventional (Classical) Delphi method was used in the research. The research data were collected through a review of the literature on the topic of the research and a series of questionnaires interspersed with controlled opinion feedback. In the analysis of qualitative data, content analysis was used. As for the quantitative data, central tendency and distribution (median, arithmetic mean, interquartile range, frequency) measures have been used. As a result of the research, 26 competences under 7 competence areas (Musical Performance, Recognizing Students, Facilitating Viola Learning, Planning and Implementing Assessment Process, Creating Learning Environments, Collaboration, Professional Growth and Professional Contribution) were reached and suggestions on the subject specific competences were made.
