Though they are infiltrated with mystical themes and superstitions on one hand; on the other hand; they also are in possession of rational dimensions resembling modern medicine. In this respect, the difference between traditional and modern techniques is merely reduced to the fact that the former relies on natural substances, instead of synthetically synthesized compounds and is even known to have supported the development of certain modern pharmaceutical products. Nowadays; they are more and more penetrating into modern societies under the euphemistic title of “alternative medicine” and it is difficult to knock out their therapeutic value, entirely. A certain adverse effect of traditional cure, especially in the far east, is its indirect incitement of poaching, as a source of providing raw materials for its patients.
