Abstract

Ports have been and continue to be important centers for countries throughout history. Today's transportation system uses highways, railways, sea routes and pipelines. Among these systems, it is known that sea freight transport has the most share. It is clear how important the ports are when considering that around 90% of international trade in the world and our country is carried out by sea. Work accidents that are the most important problems of our country are experienced in ports as well as in every sector. Occupational accidents and occupational diseases that occur in the harbors can cause damage to workers, and the surrounding area in different sizes. With the growth and development of the maritime industry, the technical processes that are taking place in the ports increase the risks that may arise. Identifying possible threats and taking precautions against these threats is possible by applying risk assessment methods and analyzing risks. In this study, a risk assessment was made on the precautions to be taken against the hazards that the existing hazards related to occupational health and safety in in a specified part of Hopa Port will bring about.
