Abstract

In today's competitive environment, successful enterprises that come forward are customer-focused and service-oriented businesses rather than product oriented. However, satisfied customers by itself aren’t guarantee of profit maximization every time. Profit maximization depends on increasing customer satisfaction while managing costs effectively over the product life cycle. In this study, key success areas in the management of the product life cycle costs have been tried to determine in terms of profit maximization. In particular, it has been determined that the success of the product life cycle cost management requires accounting success and besides this; from design to production, from marketing to service, including supply chain, it requires effective cost management and performance management with support of senior management. These factors should be considered as the basic dynamics of profit maximization over the product life cycle.
