Abstract

Today one of the most important problems of applied ethics is animal ethics and whether other non-human creatures also have rights or not. Hunting animals for sport and hunting endangered species for profit are in the front rank as forms of ill- treatment to animals. Besides, we can add many unfavorable practices to this list such as using animals for experimental purposes particularly in medicine and cosmetics industries, raising them to slaughter and to use as food or to remove their skin in mass production farms without having suitable conditions, exhibiting them out of their natural environment in public zoos and selling them. The demand for amending the negative consequences of perceptions of value set in by a human-centered (anthropocentric) approach in the process of historical development and especially engendered by the monolithic embodiments that generated by the process of globalization and resolving the problems that were emerged by the loss of independent existence conditions of nature and living creatures in it are the basics of animal rights researches.
