The elements in the string come side by side with their counterparts and form a coherent whole within themselves. Structuralism refers to the similarity and contrast of language in its approaches to cultural structure and its approaches that focus on the function of language. The interdependencies of a chain of elements knit with opposing relationships reveal dual oppositions. The system constitutes a meaningful structure with the antecedent relations and mutual dependencies between the constituent elements. The story of Memduh Şevket Esendal's The Thief-Police is investigated here in relation to the principle of dependency and opposition of the language sequence of structuralism and the structure surrounding the structure and the meaning will be revealed. In order to reveal the string in the analysis, the dependencies of the binary opposites in the sections will be examined using the synchronous method, first of all, on the story sections. After the chapters are examined one by one, they are reunited and the whole meaning in the story is removed. This way, the deep meaning underlying the formal sequence in the story will be revealed and the story will be analyzed descriptively.},author={Mihrican AYLANÇ},year={2017},journal={The Journal of Academic Social Science}}
