Abstract

While school violence is discussed as an increasing social problem, it is also defined as a universal problem. In this study, a survey is conducted with 152 students who are between 10 and 15 years old in Yalova Mareşal Fevzi Çakmak Secondary School. Social learning theory is used for preparing the survey. The purpose of the survey is to observe whether the children learn their peers’ deviant behaviours or not. According to results, it is determined that there is a significant relationship between the frequency of meeting their friends and learning those friends’ deviant behaviors. Moreover, there is a significant relationship between children’s committing deviant behaviors and being affected from peer’s deviant behaviors. In spite of poor significance, there is also a relationship between children’s tendency of violence and being affected from peer’s deviant behaviors.
