Abstract

The purpose of this study was to examine the effect of age and sex, obesity, physical activity, and some physical measurement values. As a research sample, a secondary school located in the Batman province center, which is assumed to have students from all walks of life, was selected. Anthropometric and motoric measurement values of 328 students were taken into the study. According to the Body Mass Index (BMI) percentiles, the overall rate of weakness of all students was 20,4 %, normal 68,3 %, mild weighted 7,3 % and obese 4 %. It was seen that the mild overweight or obesity rate in this study was lower than the study data in the western illusions. It was found that female students participated in less physical activity than male students. When the physical education course was considered to be 1 day, the rate of participation in physical activity over 2 days and frequent physical activity was recorded as 81,1 % in all students. There was no significant relationship between the number of days of physical activity in men and other measured values of oxygen saturation. There was a significant positive correlation between hand grip strength and height, weight, BMI and vertical jump in males. In men, the vertical jumper; Positive correlation with height and BMI was found significant, but negative correlation with weight was not found. Unlike males, the number of days of physical activity in females; BMI was found to be positively related to vertical jump and oxygen saturation. In girls, hand grip strength, were found to be positive at advanced level with height, weight, BMI and vertical jump. Weak children in obesity and fighting should not be neglected, besides physical activity suggestions, adequate and balanced nutrition solutions should be sought.
