Abstract

The main basis of the training of skilled and informative accounting professionals who will adapt to the changes in today's economic and social circumstances is effective accounting education. The developments in the field of accounting bring along new ways of searching to activate accounting education. The focal points of the new training methods to be formed are the members of the professions, the teaching staff and the students. Therefore, the opinions of the teaching staff and students are like guidelines for the further research. This study aims to exhibit the factors affectıng the performance of the undergraduate students of busıness undertakıng accountıng educatıon and the expectatıons from teachıng staff. According to the findings of the research, the most important factor affecting the success of the students in accounting courses is the proposition of " responsibilities to the family affect my performance in the courses", and the most important factor that affects the students to fail in accounting courses is the proposition of "the teaching staff’s theoretical teaching negatively affect my performance in the courses". When the students' expectations from the teaching staff are examined, the highest averages according to the averages of the answers given in this section belongs to the proposition of "Teaching staff should be while marking".
