Abstract

There are roughly two understanding in the philosophy of science. One of them is neo-positivism that accepts science as a product, carries out scientific research with results of it and then claims that science is progressing as cumulative. The other view is post-positivism that rather seeing science as a product and investigating the results of science, accepts science as a process, examines the history of scientific research and then claims that science is progressing as revolutionary. There has been an alteration from the trend of neo-positivism that is very effective in 20 century toward the view of post-positivist scientific understanding in line with the necessities of the time. In this paper, it has been tried to execute the topic of alteration that occurs in the shape of shift of interest. In this context, transition from the understanding that science as a product to the understanding that science as a process composes the essence of this paper. For this, it has been tried to study the views of science of Popper and Kuhn and interaction relation between Popper and Kuhn. This paper can be seen as a significant paper because, it tries to indicate the transition between two different style of fieldworks in the philosophy of science. As a result of this, the perspectives of philosophers of science have been changing, the questions of the philosophers of science have been changing, and then naturally have been changing their answers with this shift of interest in the philosophy of science. In this context, this paper aims at determinate the features of approach of the philosophy of science that accepts science as a historically process that is the approach of nowadays with understanding of the philosophy of science that accepts science as a result or product.
