Abstract

The purpose of this research is to investigate the views’ of preschool teacher canditates about children rights. The research was designed as a case study and interview method was used to collect data. 38 participants which are student at a state university were included to study and they are chosen by using purposive sampling. According to results, it is found that participants mostly focused on right to education, right to life and right to accommodation. Participants did not adequately mention participation right. They think that the most important stakeholders who protect children rights are parents, teachers, justice workers and society. Participants stated that they have responsibilities on protecting children from child abuse and neglect and providing right to education to them. Finally, they stated the policies and programs about protecting rights were inadeqaute. It is suggested to review our policies and and to make some programs that reduce some negative aspects to children rights.
