Abstract

The change of thought and perception according to place and culture has shown that the world and its reality differ according to the definition of man by societies. Throughout history, East and West have been considered two different cultures or human societies in this sense. Different traditions, customs and also their practices in relation to cohabiting also are the features that make these societies different from each other. A person who separates himself from nature with analytical thinking system and takes it as something to be known and understood, belongs to the West; however the Easterner, lives in harmony with the nature, has a thinking system that regards him as a part of it and is mystical. The two different societies, namely the people of East and West, have also been separated in philosophical sense with their perceptual and intellectual differences in this context. These perceptual differences in their art and creation happened in different periods in time. Oriental artist, who was molded with the mystical teachings of the East, also effected the art of the West, both philosophically and formally. It is an undeniable fact that the West is inspired by the East and inspired many artists especially in the realization of 20. Century Western Art.
