Abstract

It is aimed to investigate the cooperative structure of the cooperatives in Turkey, which was established for the first time by Mithat Pasha during the Ottoman Empire period and which Mustafa Kemal Atatürk gave importance to and which is one of the important business models in Turkey. The number of cooperatives, industry, service, agriculture, construction sectors employed in 2010-2016 were used as data in the study. ADF and PP unit root, Engel-Granger Cointegration and Granger Causality Tests were applied on the obtained time series. As the result of the tests, the relationship between the number of cooperatives opened and the construction sector was determined, but no relation was found between the other sectors. In addition, no significant relationship was found between the number of cooperatives closing and the employment numbers of the sectors mentioned.
