Abstract

The aim of this study is to investigate the relationship between the financial well-being with financial literacy and credit card attitudes among students of Vocational School of Higher Education (MYO). The research covers students from Hilvan MYO of Harran University. While the sample size was determined, 144 respondents were reached from a total of 400 students, which could be represented by an error ratio of %5. Independent-Samples t-Test, One-way Anova, Factor Analysis and Correlation Analysis were used in the study. According to the analyses, there is no meaningful discrepancy for their financial literacy with their genders or their majors. Moreover, financial literacy, credit card attitude and financial concern/satisfaction variables were taken as bases in the Explanatory Factor Analysis. Financial well-being basic variable was separated as fiscal trouble and financial satisfaction sub-variables. Finally, credit card attitude variable was also separated as trust towards to credit card and rational use of credit card sub-variables. There is a meaningful and positive relation between financial literacy and credit card attitudes from the basic variables according to the Correlation Analysis. It was also confirmed that there is a meaningful and positive relation between financial well-being/fiscal troubles with credit card attitude and financial literacy.
