Abstract

The globalization process forces state apparatus to stop being the sole decision maker and share the resolution processes with public opinion. However; international relations is a hard, complex and not enough interesting field for public union due to its multivariate structure. Accordingly, foreign policy stands out as a topic which the public opinion can manipulate by propaganda and biases, and is unable to play enough its anticipatory role. In removal of this public opinion weakness which forms a deficiency for democracy, both learning at school and educators who are viewed among public opinion creators have important roles and responsibilities. In this study, Turkey-Russia cooperation sample and perceptions of prospective teacher toward the Slavic world was examined within this context. Within the scope of the study, 15 item data collector was used and 170 prospective teachers in total were studied with. Although no biases on Slavic world and any negative attitude towards building relations with this world was observed among prospective teachers, a considerable level of lack of information was identified which was accompanied by absence of idea and vision as a natural consequence.
