Abstract

Arising from the "Arab Springs" revolutions and changing of the existing regimes in the Middle East, the role and involvement of global actors in these processes have transformed the region into one of the most discussed by the international community places in the world. Sixth year of the ongoing war in Syria pushed interests on the one hand Russia and Iran supporting Syrian President Bashar al-Assad, and on the other hand the Western forces supporting the opposition against the Syrian army. Turkey, both in terms of geographical proximity, and from the point of view of the historical ties, could not remain aloof from the events in the Middle East. On the Syrian front, lead military operations the Russian army, and the military forces of Turkey, which has the longest border with Syria, and took care of a large number of refugees from that country. In recent time, Turkey and Russia are actively cooperating to end the war in Syria and to establish a lasting peace. The aim of this study is analyzing Turkish Russian relations through the prism of the Syrian war.
