Abstract

Quality of education could be enhanced through instruction planning; teaching targets could be reached. Instruction planning is also necessary for primary education. Hence, primary school education is the learning stage where students establish foundation of their future success, which prepare them for the further education stages, which allows them to gain social, affection and intellectual proficiencies. The purpose of the present study, conducted in Kırşehir City / TURKEY, is to determine classroom teachers’ perception of proficiency regarding instruction planning. This quantitative study is structured with screening model. The research universe was comprised of classroom teachers from all counties of the Kırşehir City during the academic year of 2014-2015. 294 teachers were included in the study based on the simple non-selective sampling method considered as one of the probabilistic sampling methods. “Scale for Perception of Proficiency in Instruction Planning (SPPIP)” developed by the researcher was employed as data collection tool. As a result of the present research, it was determined that classroom teachers’ perception of proficiency regarding instruction planning were rather high; and that marital status, professional seniority and training on instruction planning were significant variables on teachers’ perception of proficiency regarding instruction planning.
