Abstract

The purpose of this study is to examine the functionality of 9th grade violin course book according to the students’ opinions and to contribute scientifically to the violin training courses at Fine Arts High Schools. For this purpose, it was aimed to determine the attainment levels of the students including their knowledge and skills for the expected outcomes. The study utilized descriptive research method and the population was consisted of 13 Fine Arts High Schools in Central Anatolia Region. The sampling was composed of 9th grade students (49) who were randomly selected from 8 Fine Arts High Schools. The data were obtained through a questionnaire consisting of 10 items intended students' opinions. For statistical analysis SPSS 22.0 software package was used. When the results analysed, it was revealed that the students did not have clear thoughts about the general content of the violin course book and thereby the functionality was acknowledged as uncertain for students.
