THE EFFECT OF PHYSICAL ACTIVITY AND LEISURE ACTIVITIES ON LIVING QUALITY IN HEARING IMPAIRED CHILDREN

Abstract

This research was conducted in Isparta special education and rehabilitation institutions continued hearing impaired quality of life in the center in order to determine the effect of physical activity and recreational activities. Research in front of the experimental design - test and post - test control group design was used. The population of the study; Isparta in central attending special education and rehabilitation institutions constitute deaf children. The sample of the study were created among students that make up the universe with a simple random sampling method constitutes 15 students in the 9-13 age range selected. Try the research group selected 15 students from a simple random method 5 students (3 girls and 2 boys), while the control group selected 10 students (5 girls and 5 boys). In the experimental group students for 6 weeks, 2 days a week, a program specially prepared consisting of physical activity and recreational activities have been implemented by 1 hour investigator. If the students in the control group did not apply any physical activity or recreational activities. Research in the end, the students in the experimental group and the control group to make an assessment "Kiddo Kindle" the beginning of the pre-test quality of life questionnaire survey was administered post-test at the end of the study. The results of this test was performed with SPSS statistical software. The comparison of the mean difference between groups, non-sequential argument to the Mann-Whitney U test Nan-par, while the intra-group comparison of mean differences were analyzed with the Wilcoxon test Nan Par. For Type 1 error α = 0.05 and 0.01 level has been taken. Research; physical activity and quality of life of students in the experimental group in the implementation of the program of recreational activities where there is a change and it was seen that this change is statistically significant. quality of life of students in the control group showed no change. In the experimental groups students can be said that the effect of the program applied to changes in the quality of life. Statistical results (p <0.05) and (p <0.01) were significant at the significance level.
